She is most known for her collage style that consists of black and white photographs, overlaid with declarative captions, stated in white on red Futura or Helvetica text. After doing some generalised research into abortions, I decided to go down the route of grief as it's an overlooked side of the topic.

HIV Positive Poster

Picture

"My measurements are 40 by 60 centimeters. I was printed on high brightness paper. And my weight is 250 grams. I'm just like any other poster," the text reads. "Except for one thing: I'm HIV positive. It's exactly what you've just read. I'm living with the virus. At this point you may be taking a step back, wondering if I offer any danger.”
The posters don't offer any harm, the idea being to show that people with HIV also aren't dangerous despite the stigma around them.

Speak Up Man

Picture
reel360.com/article/speak-up-man-reframes-reproductive-rights-conversation/
Recognising that men hold disproportionate power and control in society, the campaign aims to engage men as allies in advocating for policy change. By highlighting the perspectives of men who have benefited from abortion, the campaign aims to bring men into the reproductive rights conversation and appeal to a broad audience.

Domestic Abuse

Using fire and road safety as a way to showcase domestic abuse, showing that there are higher risks in domestic abuse than other forms.

Projecting words into a space seemed really effective to me over simply putting words on a page.

Feedback and Changes

After viewing the brief and speaking with tutors, I decided the theme of grief within abortions didn't meet the brief. The brief is asking to showcase the tension between freedom and law & order which while grief is an important aspect, doesn't exactly tick the box.

Initial Ideas:
Making words so they read different things depending on the angle they're looked at
Dominating words blending into hypnosis
Blending words together
Symbiotograms
Symbiotograms projected in mirrors
Incorporate projection still with different angles

This didn't communicate as successfully as I hoped it would.

Feedback - New Ideas

Feedback explained that the animation was missing a hit to actually portraying the message I wanted and instead looked like words floating around a page.
New idea of animated posters and a supported video to present and explain it.
